engraving is possible by carving or burning,

of course, by hand, not with machines or lasers,

engraving could be not only on bokken's, Jo's and tanto's, it could be on stands also on tsuba or on kshira, it is your choice

 

for engraveing of kashira there is limits, kashira is not big
